Son to Photographer Jon Gottshall and DC based Development Director Cindy Silveira, Eric Gottshall is a multimedia performance/video artist based in Brooklyn, NY. With his first exhibition at 17, Eric has shown in a wide array of venues, some including Immersive Gallery in Brooklyn, NY., SPRING/BREAK Art Show, as well as Select Art Fair during Art Basel Miami weekend in 2012, 2013, and 2014. Eric has been actively showing and working with Art During The Occupation Gallery for the past three years, building acclaim amongst his colleagues, as well as dealers, collectors, and art personalities alike.
Statement
I am a multimedia performance/video artist, whose work deals directly with the psychology of heightened awareness, social/societal dynamics, and a persistent inquiry into ongoing human evolution. F.A.C.E. Units (Facilitating Analogue Cerebral Exploration), posing as faux medical devices, force a heightened/altered sensitivity between the wearers surroundings and his/her self, and thus are my way of directly experiment within these realms of interest.
